📍 How Do You Get Off the Waiting List? — The Right Answers for Koreans and Foreigners, Respectively
For places that offer remote line-up, book your spot in advance through the app; for those that only accept walk-ins, aim to go right after they open or around 3 p.m.—that’s the basic strategy.

🍜 The Top 3 Spots in the Jeju City Area — You Can Have Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner All Here
You can easily plan your itinerary for all three meals of the day just within the Jeju City area, which is close to the airport.
Hangover soup for breakfast, meat noodle soup for lunch, and black pork for dinner—I highly recommend sticking to this exact order on your first day here!
Woo Jin Haejangguk — Bracken Beef Stew, Open at 6 a.m.
Running from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., every day without a break Bracken Beef Stew It's a specialty shop (yes, at 6 a.m.).
This Jeju-style yukgaejang—made by simmering bracken ferns until the broth becomes thick and rich—gained nationwide fame after appearing on TV, and as a result, it’s common to see reviews mentioning wait times of over an hour during peak hours.

Sister Noodles — The Perfect Introduction to Meat Noodles

This is a noodle dish made with rich beef bone broth and topped with thick slices of dombe meat. It’s so popular that one review mentioned the wait number was 121 at 10 a.m., but the line moves quickly, so it shortens in no time.

Just remember that we're closed on Wednesdays and have a break time (2:30–4:10 p.m.).
The standard way to enjoy it is to pair it with dombe beef (19,000 won for beef).

There are many notices recommending advance reservations through Naver Reservation and Tableing, and since the restaurant is listed on CatchTable as well, global apps are definitely the way to go for foreigners.

🍚 East Guju — Myeongjin Abalone, Abalone Stone Pot Rice by the Sea
This is the perfect spot for lunch on a drive along the East Coast Highway.
It's a popular restaurant where even the locals line up to eat~
Abalone Stone Pot Rice 16,000 won, The abalone porridge costs 13,000 won, which is a pretty good deal for a meal right on the beach along Haemaji Coastal Road.
Open from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., closed on Tuesdays; the spacious parking lot makes it especially convenient for travelers with rental cars.
The waiting list is managed on-site—you sign your name in at the entrance, and they'll call you by phone.
Since calls to roaming numbers can be unreliable, we recommend that foreign travelers stay close to the store and wait there rather than going far away.
Be prepared for about 30 minutes!

🐟 Mosulpo in the southwest — Mi-young's Restaurant, the mecca of mackerel sashimi
When it comes to mackerel sashimi, freshness is key, so the best place to go is right at the port where it’s caught—and this restaurant at Mosulpo Port is the epitome of that.
Mackerel sashimi is 70,000 won for the small portion and 95,000 won for the large portion; the small portion is plenty for two people, and if you order the sashimi, A full meal, including mackerel soupIt's famous for its layout, which follows the same pattern as this course.
This setup is a bit of a cheat!
Open 11:30 a.m.–10:00 p.m. Closed on Wednesdays.
During the lunch rush, there’s often a 20- to 30-minute wait, but tables turn over quickly, and since there’s a takeout-only area across from the main restaurant, many customers have reported being able to pick up their orders without waiting.

🐷 Seogwipo's Top Two — Yeon-don and O-myeongjeong Kimbap: Reservations Are Half the Battle
The two national-level restaurants in Seogwipo are places where you have to figure out “how to get in” before you even think about the food.
Since the approaches are completely opposite, I'll group them together and summarize them.
Yeon-don — Tonkatsu Where You Take a Number Instead of Waiting in Line
Sirloin and Tenderloin Cutlets, 12,000 won.
Since this restaurant became famous after appearing on Baek Jong-won’s show, there have even been reviews mentioning a six-hour wait, so, I guess I'll go around lunchtime. If you do that, you won't even be able to register and will have to turn back.
They only accept registrations at the kiosk in front of the store—no online reservations—and the waitlist opens at 10 a.m. — Once you’ve registered, CatchTable will notify you when it’s your turn, so you can go explore the nearby Jungmun tourist attractions and come back when it’s your turn.

Ojeong Kimbap — No wait, but reservations are a mad scramble
There's no line here.
Instead 100% by appointment onlyThere's another hurdle, though (they only take calls—seriously).
One roll of gimbap filled with deep-fried tofu costs 4,000 won. Orders start at two rolls, and since this is a takeout-only shop, dining in is not available.

For foreign travelers who have difficulty speaking Korean, asking the front desk at their accommodation is a practical workaround.
Monday–Saturday 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. (break from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.); closed on Sundays.

✨ Checklist Before You Leave
Start by memorizing the days off — Wed, Tue, Sun.
"Sisters Noodles" and "Mi-young's" are closed on Wednesdays, "Myeongjin Abalone" is closed on Tuesdays, and "O-eun-jeong Kimbap" is closed on Sundays.
Just by checking this against your schedule, you can avoid wasted trips.
